Suprainfinit gallery is pleased to announce the opening of ((𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦., the first exhibition of Swedish artist, curator, and composer Nilz Källgren at Suprainfinit Gallery, a show that will then extend through a dialogue with the artists Mati Jhurry, Wilf Speller, Klara Zetterholm, Jina Shin și Christophe De Rohan Chabot, at the beginning of March. Mobilising a posthuman understanding of humanity, Nilz Källgren’s solo show examines the dissonance of being a hunter gatherer with a smartphone. The artist brings together his reflections on the dark side of humanity and his subjective pain of inevitably participating in the oppressive structures that underscore the human project.
“Layers of skin, a series of events. Individuals in masses. Lizard brain. Fight and flight. Initial public offerings. Rupture and repeat. Life pours through a hole in the skin. Our skin. Layers of skin. Skin on skin on skin on skin on skin on skin on skin on skin. And so on. Not social, nor physical, a third skin is somehow essential. Identity is everywhere. Fragmented, dispersed – augmented. I lost my train of thought. Came to a halt on the tip of my tongue. I initially assume that means it’s of no importance. But I can’t help but feel we’re getting it wrong. I lean back and think – I use my imagination. I have such great ideas, I think to myself, but deep down I’m not convinced I can realize. It’s a trait we all have, I think to myself. Great thinkers, poor doers. I am what I am, I think. The thinker and the doer, the runner and the reaper.”
